Sambhali U.S. respects your privacy while you are visiting our website.  We do not collect any personal information about you on our website unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. 

Personal Information That We Collect

Individuals may visit the Sambhali U.S. website without submitting any personal information.  Visitors who wish to receive Sambhali U.S. e-communications (e-mails and newsletters) voluntarily provide us with contact information including name and e-mail address.  We may use this information to communicate with you about Sambhali U.S.  You may opt out of receiving these communications by clicking the “unsubscribe” link or e-mailing us at info@sambhalius.org. 

Individuals seeking to volunteer with Sambhali U.S. voluntarily provide us with contact information and other background information to assist us in placing them in appropriate volunteer activities.  The information collected may include name, address, phone number, languages spoken, and skills and experience.  

Individuals seeking to donate to Sambhali U.S. will be connected through our website to Network for Good, a Certified B corporation that offers software for non-profit organizations, and that processes donations through its website.  We do not receive any credit card information from Network for Good with respect to donations made through the Network for Good site.  Network for Good does provide us with the amount of donation and the date of the donation in addition to the name, email address, and billing address provided by Sambhali U.S. donors.  We also receive donations from individuals through checks and through donor-advised charitable funds, in which case we collect whatever information is voluntarily supplied by the donor, and incorporate it into our Network for Good database.  

We may also have access to aggregate anonymized information to track visitor traffic to our website, which enables us to identify which features better serve the needs of those interested in Sambhali U.S.

How We Use The Information That We Collect

Sambhali U.S. does not provide, sell, or rent personal information that we collect about you to anyone outside of the organization.   

We use the information you provide us to furnish services to you, such as e-mail communications, newsletters, and information about volunteer activities.  You may choose to opt out at any time, and we will honor that request immediately.   

We may also disclose aggregate anonymized data about our website traffic to outside parties who are helping us with website development and other services.  

How and Where We Store Personal Information 

We are based in the United States.  Therefore, if you provide us with information, we collect, process and store that information in the United States.  If you access our website from the European Economic Area or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that differ from U.S. law, please note that you may be transferring your personal information to the United States, which does not have the same data protection laws as the EU or some other countries.

Sambhali U.S. will not disclose personal information except as described in this Policy.  Only Board Members of Sambhali U.S. and other select volunteers directly involved in our operations will have access to personal information.   

Other than as previously described, Sambhali U.S. will not disclose personal information to third parties except when we believe it to be necessary to comply with law enforcement requirements or legal processes, such as court order or subpoena, to comply with the law, or to protect your, our, or others’ rights, property or safety.

The Sambhali U.S. website includes links to external websites.  These external websites do not fall within our control, and Sambhali U.S. is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites.  Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

Children’s Privacy 

We do not collect or maintain information from those we actually know are under 13 years of age, and our website is not structured to attract anyone under 13 years of age.  If we learn that a user is under 13 years of age, we will promptly delete any personal information that the individual has provided to us.

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, in our sole discretion.  We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to the Privacy Policy.  Any updates will be identified by their effective date.  Your continued use of our site will constitute your acceptance of any changes made to the Privacy Policy changes.
