Rajasthan, India is one of the worst places in the world to be born female.
The women and girls of Sambhali are on a mission to change that.


Sambhali U.S. tells their stories, raises funds for programs run by the Indian-based Sambhali Trust, and recruits volunteers to help.

Women and girls in Rajasthan face steep barriers to progress:

  • Only 16% finish secondary school.

  • 57% are illiterate.

  • The average age of marriage is 19.

Sambhali Trust opened a new project called Sarai, which means โ€œresting place.โ€ Located in the heart of Jodhpur, the Sarai building beautifully illustrates Sambhaliโ€™s goal of providing holistic support for the community it serves.
