At the Top of Sambhali House: Escaping Nightmares and Helping Good Dreams Come True

Sambhali U.S. is proud to be partnering with Sambhali Austria to provide the funding for Sambhali Trust to purchase the top floor and roof deck of Sambhali House, the building in Jodhpur that houses Sambhali Trust’s offices.
It is a space of sanctuary and study.
For women and their children escaping domestic violence, there are rooms for temporary shelter and immediate access to the legal and counseling staff of the Nirbhaya gender-based violence program.
For young women who attended Sambhali Trust’s Sheerni Boarding home during their primary and secondary school years, there is a new boarding home, Abhayasthali, where they can live and study while attending college and pursuing post-graduate work.
And there is sisterhood between the programs as the college students love tending to the children, and the women escaping violence relish the support and safety.
A reconfiguration of this space early next year—combined with a movement of the current sewing program to another format and space—will provide more room for both programs. That’s important because next spring six more of the Sheerni boarding home girls will complete their secondary education and be ready for the next stop on the road to their dreams.
